We provide two types of COVID-19 tests:
- PCR (also known as molecular or diagnostic) testing at our clinic by appointment only. Results in three or more days.
- Rapid antigen testing at our mobile testing sites. Drive-up, no appointment necessary. Results at time of testing.
We do not provide antibody testing.
In general, we recommend PCR testing for people who have possible COVID-19 symptoms (please call us if you believe you have symptoms). Antigen testing is better suited for people who do not have symptoms.
The FDA has more information on the differences between PCR and antigen testing. If you’re unsure which test is right for you, please call us.
Diagnostic COVID Testing at Our Clinic
Diagnostic (also known as PCR, molecular) COVID-19 testing is available at our clinic by appointment only. The test is administered by nasal swab.
We work with a regional lab; due to high volumes, it may take three or more days for results to be returned from the lab. Severe weather can also delay testing as lab specimens must be flown off island.
For patients with insurance, this testing will be fully covered.
For patients who are uninsured or paying out-of-pocket, the clinic fee will be covered by Federal CARES Act funds. The lab bills separately; their out-of-pocket-fee is $135. However, our clinic can reimburse 50% ($67.50) of the fee for patients who need financial assistance.

Mobile Community COVID Testing on Orcas
We are holding mobile drive-through testing events for full- and part-time Orcas Island residents and their family members. We will continue with this program until at least March 2021 (see days, times, and locations below).
No appointment is necessary. There is no cost to community members for this service (more details below).
We will be administering a rapid COVID-19 antigen test via nasal swab. A nurse will provide results on-site, about 20 minutes after the test.
There will be no out-of-pocket fees for our mobile testing. We are required to bill insurance for patients who are insured; however any out-of-pocket fees or copays will be covered by Federal CARES Act funding.
Note that testing events may be canceled due to severe weather.
